La protection de l’enfant en milieu rural contre la traite dans le monde du travail en Côte d’Ivoire
La protection de l’enfant est une question dont se préoccupe fortement la société internationale. C’est une problématique qui, bien qu’en ayant trouvé un écho favorable avec la convention internationale sur le droit des enfants, ne cesse de se renouveler au regard des pratiques protéiformes de la traite de l’enfant dans le monde du travail. Les États entendent lutter contre cette traite par des mesures nationales et internationales. Au niveau communautaire aujourd’hui, la protection de l’enfant est de plus en plus débattue au sein des instances. Cette tendance à la communautarisation du débat tend à permettre de prendre suffisamment en compte les particularismes de la lutte contre la traite des enfants au sein de différentes zones du monde. En Afrique de l’Ouest, bénéficiant d’un potentiel d’exploitations agricole, forestière, minière, la protection de l’enfant contre la traite se positionne, comme une thématique primordiale en débat. Ce débat est renforcé par les divers rapports révélateurs du travail des enfants au sein des zones de production notamment celles du café et du cacao dont fait partie la Côte d’Ivoire. Les enfants dont il est question sont pour la plupart issus du milieu rural. Ce milieu avec toutes ces caractéristiques est de nature à rendre complexe la lutte contre la traite. Il faut ainsi jeter un regard appuyé sur la vulnérabilité des enfants en milieu rural en ce qui concerne le monde du travail ivoirien.

Child protection is a matter of great concern to international society. This is a problem which, although having found a favorable echo with the international convention on the rights of the child, continues to be renewed with regard to the protean practices of child trafficking in the world of work. States intend to combat this trafficking through national and international measures. At the community level today, the protection of the child is increasingly debated within the authorities. This tendency to communitarize the debate tends to make it possible to sufficiently take into account the particularisms of the fight against child trafficking in different areas of the world. In West Africa, which benefits from the potential for agricultural, forestry and mining exploitation, the protection of children against trafficking is positioned as a key topic under debate. This debate is reinforced by the various reports revealing child labor within production areas, particularly those of coffee and cocoa, of which Côte d’Ivoire is a part. The children in question are mostly from rural areas. This environment with all these characteristics is likely to make the fight against trafficking complex. It is therefore necessary to take a close look at the vulnerability of children in rural areas with regard to the Ivorian world of work.
