Patrimoine culturel ivoirien dans la consolidation de l’identité nationale 1893-2018
Matériel ou immatériel, le patrimoine culturel constitue un ensemble d’éléments qui concourent à reconnaitre à un peuple ou à une nation, son histoire, sa fierté et son identité culturelle. Comment ce patrimoine va-t-il contribuer à la consolidation d’une identité culturelle nationale ? Pour résoudre cette question, nous avons parcouru des écrits d’historiens, de sociologues et de littéraires. À cela, il faut ajouter l’apport des sources iconographiques. Cette étude a permis de comprendre comment, au-delà du divertissement (les festivals culturels régionaux, les carnavals), le patrimoine culturel a contribué à la consolidation de l’unité nationale, par la cohésion sociale et l’intégration des communautés ethniques, renforçant ainsi, la sociabilité entre les populations. Cet article est une contribution à la nécessité de valoriser, à travers des festivités, le patrimoine culturel ivoirien, de le sauvegarder et de l’intégrer dans la chaîne de production touristique nationale. L’étude se présente en trois étapes : la première analyse et fait l’historique du patrimoine culturel ivoirien à l’épreuve de la colonisation, la seconde aborde la question de la renaissance culturelle et celle liée à la restitution des biens culturels, la troisième étape aborde le patrimoine culturel comme vecteur de cohésion sociale et un levier économique.

Tangible or intangible, cultural heritage is a set of elements that contribute to recognizing a people or a nation, its history, its pride and its cultural identity. How will this heritage contribute to the consolidation of a national cultural identity? In an attempt to resolve this question, we have read through the writings of historians, sociologists and literary scholars. To this must be added the contribution of iconographic sources. This study has made it possible to understand how, beyond entertainment (regional cultural festivals, carnivals), cultural heritage has contributed to the consolidation of national unity, through social cohesion and the integration of ethnic communities, strengthening thus, sociability between populations. This article is a contribution to the need to promote, through festivities, the Ivorian cultural heritage, to safeguard it and to integrate it into the national tourist production chain. The study is presented in three stages: the first analyzes and gives the history of the Ivorian cultural heritage to the test of colonization, the second addresses the question of cultural renaissance and that linked to the restitution of cultural property, the third stage addresses cultural heritage as a vector of social cohesion and an economic lever.
